Why I Food Bank

Your acts of kindness and generosity are making a difference in the lives of kids, seniors, and unemployed workers who are reaching out for help with food. Because of your financial support, volunteerism, and advocacy, our neighbors have food for today and hope for tomorrow. Thank you for the many reasons why you choose to food bank.

We’re sad to hear about the impact of COVID-19 on local theme park workers and the hospitality industry. So many of these workers have brought such joy to our lives over the years.” 

Meet some of our neighbors, like Merari, who are experiencing hunger as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

I wanted to do something for people now who are struggling. I have money for my own food, and felt that I had enough to be a monthly donor.”

Meal Makers provide consistent and sustainable financial support in the fight against hunger month after month. You can join this dedicated group of monthly donors to create hope and nourish lives all year long.

As a regular volunteer, I feel strongly about helping.”

Volunteer opportunities with Second Harvest offer fun and unique ways for individuals and groups to contribute their time, talents and resources to help our neighbors in need.

I have depended on the kindness of strangers in the past. Now I want to help others.”
