Devastatingly, nearly 150,000 children will face hunger in Central Florida, this summer. Kids need adequate nutrition in order for their bodies and minds to develop, and the time to act is now. The Swamp Sistas, a grassroots movement of musicians, artists, and fans, led by songwriter Beth McKee, is determined to help close this hunger gap.
Listen in as members of the movement share their passion for fighting hunger and feeding hope this summer.
From June 12-17, the group will conduct its Swamp Sistas Summer Hope for Kids fund drive, to help provide freshly prepared, nutritious meals to thousands of kids in Central Florida. Follow their efforts at www.facebook.com/swampsistas or get involved at www.lalasummerhope.com.
It feels good to do good.
Every $10 donated can provide 40 meals.
