Second Harvest Food Bank’s production area received a special visit from the creators and staff of the hit YouTube channel Hellthy Junkfood.
This group of 9 came in ready to roll up their sleeves and help produce 10,000 meals in one 3-hour volunteer shift. In the production area volunteers assist in packing meals for kids and seniors. Meals are packed, sealed and boxes for distribution through a variety of programs, including local Head Start programs, Kids Cafe and other meal deliveries made possible during COVID-19 relief efforts.
The Healthy Junkfood group had amazing energy and their eagerness to learn about our mission and how they could help spread awareness about it was truly remarkable. It also always helps to keep things fun when volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank. When our team members Chef Paige and Kelvin invited the group to a victory dance at the completion of the day’s tasks… the group did not disappoint! Check out their volunteer shift from start to finish in the video below.
Thank you for fighting hunger with us!
We love volunteers!
Each 3-hour shift helps provide thousands of meals to people in need.
