Every September, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and food banks across the country participate in Hunger Action Month (HAM). This concerted effort directly relates to our shared vision of inspiring and engaging the community to end hunger. You know that hunger is an impossible choice for far too many of our neighbors. To that end, Second Harvest Food Bank is asking you to help “Stock the Shelves” this September, knowing that every action you take will help stock the shelves, create hope and nourish lives for our neighbors experiencing hunger.
Why is taking action this month so important? More than half a million Central Floridians face hunger. Hear from Dave Krepcho, President & CEO of Second Harvest, as he shares a memory of attending a mobile food distribution that says it all in the video below.
Check out the “30 ways in 30 days” calendar outlining different actions, events and promotions you can participate in this September. Some actions are small, like sharing hunger facts on social media. Others take more effort, like volunteering in the warehouse.
