In response to the high demand for home-delivered food due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Second Harvest rolled out its Bring Hope Home delivery program. External partners and volunteer drivers help safely transport perishable and non-perishable foods directly to people in need in a contact-free manner. Recipients include seniors, homebound individuals, people with a disability, and those in the high-risk group for contracting coronavirus.
Thanks to caring people like you, Bring Hope home launched just in time for Arlene. She lost her job earlier this year and burned through her savings. She couldn’t even afford to put gas in her car when she contracted COVID-19. Her neighbors brought her meals at first, but then they stayed away for their own health and safety.
“If I had known how easy it was going to be, I would have made that call a lot sooner,” Arlene admits. “You’ve helped me in ways you might not understand. Thank you.”
Your generosity is helping fuel programs like Bring Hope Home to deliver more food, and more hope, to more people than ever before. This program is just one way Second Harvest Food Bank is able to distribute enough food to provide more than 300,000 meals a day during the coronavirus pandemic. Thank you.
