A good friend always has your back. In normal times, CFA Society Orlando provides financial literacy education to students enrolled in Second Harvest’s Culinary Training Program. Over the past four years, hundreds of students have been able to build a budget, decipher which bank account is best for their family and taken control of their finances thanks to this partnership.
During the difficult times facing Central Florida as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and economic collapse, CFA Society Orlando has expanded their partnership by matching member donations to Second Harvest, up to $75 per member, through their Measure Up Virtual Food Drive. Their collective effort has already raised enough funds to provide 31,000 meals for furloughed workers, kids and seniors wrestling with difficult financial decisions as a result of the pandemic.
Second Harvest President & CEO Dave Krepcho recently joined CFA Society Orlando members on The Investors First Podcast to share how the food bank has adapted its operations and programs to distribute more food to more people while adhering to social distancing requirements. Listen in to hear some positive stories that have come out of this unprecedented time.
