Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida recently welcomed Andre Walton to its board of directors.
Walton is senior vice president and national practice leader at Aon, a leading global professional services firm, where he oversees a team that serves Medicare-eligible seniors by providing Medicare supplemental plans to offset healthcare costs.
“Seniors are a vulnerable population when it comes to food insecurity, so my career at Aon presents many parallels with the critical work that Second Harvest does,” said Walton. “It’s an honor to be even a small part of identifying hunger solutions not just for seniors – but for all of our neighbors in Central Florida.”
Walton was introduced to Second Harvest through Aon, which is headquartered in Chicago and regularly partners with the Greater Chicago Food Depository. His involvement with the board is part of the company’s nationwide support of hunger relief efforts.
For nearly a year, Second Harvest has been distributing enough food for 300,000 meals a day – double pre-pandemic operation levels.
