Ready, set, build! Canstruction® is back to help raise awareness about hunger while providing resources to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida for relief efforts.
This year, 10 teams of local architecture and engineering firms designed canned food displays around the theme “Hungry to Learn.” On Saturday, September 10, members of each team will build their concepts within an 8x8x8-foot space at Orlando Science Center. The community is invited to watch the designs take shape.
Displays will be “de-canstructed” on Sunday, October 2, and the nonperishable items will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank for distribution to its network of more than 500 nonprofit feeding partners across Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Brevard and Volusia counties.
The competition is sponsored in part by Addition Financial, AIA Orlando, Triangle Reprographics, and Orlando Science Center.
