Volunteer Superstar: Joel Clement

Since February 2012, Joel Clement has volunteered an amazing 933 hours at Second Harvest Food Bank!  He initially found out about Second Harvest from another volunteer, and after checking out our website, decided he wanted to help out, too!

Everyday, Joel rides his bike to our Food Rescue Center on Shader Ave.  He starts his routine by refilling the cooler with water bottles for all of the volunteers that are expected that day.  When Joel’s not doing that, he’s helping out the volunteer groups,  making boxes, breaking down cardboard, and any other number of duties needed to be done.

“I really enjoy coming here, meeting new people and doing something worthwhile with my time,” Joel says about volunteering at Second Harvest, “It’s good for me physically, as I get a pretty good work out every day.”

A retired, single individual, Joel has a passion for Second Harvest’s mission. He has come across a lot of needy people, and knows all too well about the problem of hunger in our community.

Thank you Joel for your handwork and commitment. It is volunteers like you who help us do what we do!
