Last year, over 37,700 individuals donated over 120,000 hours to sort food donations, pack meals for kids, bag produce, stock shelves, and much, much more. This tremendous volunteer effort is essential to Second Harvest’s mission to fight hunger in Central Florida.
To show our appreciation for the thousands of volunteers that give their time to help feed their neighbors in need, Second Harvest is excited to provide new keyless security for volunteer lockers. Thanks to a grant from the David Weekley Homes Family Foundation, 60 new locks have been installed to provide safe storage for purses, backpacks and other items while also ensuring food safety practices are followed in the warehouse and production kitchen work areas.
The new locks are simple to use and ensure that keys are not lost or accidentally taken home. Look for the instructions on your next volunteer day.
