Top 5 Ways You Can Fight Hunger From Your Phone

These days, most of us can’t be seen without our phones in our hands. It’s how we communicate, it’s how we learn, it’s how we’re entertained, and it’s something that’s both convenient and familiar to us. But did you know that your phone is also a powerful tool to fight hunger in Central Florida? Here are the Top 5 Ways you can use your phone to fight hunger in your community.

1. Start a virtual food drive.

This holiday season, we’ve redesigned our virtual food drive to be mobile friendly, which allows you to fundraise more efficiently. It’s even easier to sign up, monitor, and share with your friends, family, and coworkers.

2. Donate.

Did you know our website and donation forms are also mobile friendly? We know you have a busy schedule, and we are grateful to you for taking the time to gift hope to local kids, families, and seniors, so we’ve reengineered our donation forms so they are cleaner, quicker, and safe to use.

3. Holiday e-cards.

It’s that time of year, and we’ve made sending gifts easier. When you send a little joy to your family and friends, you’ll also be gifting joy to a local kid who may not have otherwise had a warm meal this holiday season, or to a senior who otherwise would have had to choose between food and their medicine.

4. Download the gogreenback app.

We all want to save money, and being able to save money on the things you already buy and give back is a winner-winner in our book. If you donate $50 or more from now until December 31, you can choose to receive a gogreenback app membership free for 12 months. Just remember to select the gogreenback premium option when you fill out the donation form.

5. Sign up to volunteer.

In order to make a bigger impact on the community, Second Harvest relies on tens of thousands of volunteers ever year. You can use your phone to sign up for one of our many volunteer opportunities. Come as yourself, as a family, or as a company – it’s easy to choose a shift straight from your phone.

So whether you are using your phone to save money, sign up to volunteer, or running a virtual food drive, you are helping to feed more kids, seniors, and families.
