Sparking Hope Within Our Leaders

Over the last few weeks, several volunteers, staff, and advocates have shared their “sparks” about what keeps them going. Every story shared has shown incredibly moving sparks that show how much our community cares about our neighbors in need.

We even had some special sparks shared by Congressman Daniel Webster, Congressman Darren Soto and Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings.

Congressman Daniel Webster shared that his spark is serving the most vulnerable in our community. Specifically, he reflected during the aftermath of Hurricane Irma where he was able to pack and distribute family boxes that contained food and water into his district. Watch his spark here:

Congressman Darren Soto shared his wife’s experiences as a teacher who say food insecurity on a daily basis in her classroom. His spark is all about the kids in our community who we should be doing better for. Catch his spark below:

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings shared what he’s seen in his many years in law enforcement prior to becoming Mayor. He knows the very real realities of food insecurity are for Orange County families.
