Second Harvest receives Four-Star Charity Rating

Author: Dave Krepcho

Greetings! As someone who cares about hunger in Central Florida, I wanted to share with you a bit of exciting news. Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida was recently notified that our organization has been awarded the top rating of four-stars from Charity Navigator, the nation’s leading evaluator of non-profit groups.

According to Charity Navigator, the four-star designation is awarded to non-profits that exceed industry standards in organizational efficiency, revenue growth, administrative expenses, and other key management areas.

Thanks to that trust, and to your generous support, our organization continues to make a deep and lasting impact on the lives of struggling families throughout Central Florida. Last year, Second Harvest Food Bank reached a record-setting distribution of 33 million pounds of food which is equivalent to 22 million meals. We continue to fight hunger, and to feed hope in unprecedented ways.

The four-star rating from Charity Navigator is particularly gratifying because it reflects the incredible diligence, dedication, and hard work of our volunteer board of directors and mission-driven staff. This team works overtime to make sure that we live up to our core value of stewardship of resources. You, and the community, deserve nothing less.

We so appreciate the vote of confidence in our programs and services that your continued support represents, and we hope that you feel as much pride in this four-star rating as we do. As always, thank you for your interest and assistance as we work together to help our neighbors in need.

Sincerely,
Dave Krepcho
President and CEO
