Annual “Scouting for Food” Event to Collect Non-Perishable Food Items

Every November, local Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers set out to fight hunger by collecting food during the annual “Scouting for Food” campaign.

Thousands of Scouts recently distributed orange door hangers to bring awareness to the “Scouting for Food” collection day occurring November 10, 2018.

On that day, the Central Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America will stop by nearly 500,000 homes to pick up donations. Residents are being asked to place non-perishable items on their doorsteps by 8 a.m.

There will also be designated collection sites for people to drop off donations for the campaign, including Florida Hospital’s “Night of Praise” concert Nov. 9 at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts Seneff Arts Plaza, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
