We are in the final week of the “What’s Your Spark?” campaign. Over the last several weeks we’ve shared a variety of inspirational stories about why fighting hunger and making a difference are important to you – our supporters, volunteers, partners and even some of our staff and recipients of food. Check them out on Instagram or Facebook.
In addition to sharing these mission moments, we’ve looked at different ways you can make a difference, like volunteering and donating food and funds. This week we are looking at all the other ways you can engage with Second Harvest because every small action can make a big difference for our neighbors in need.
One of the easiest and most fun ways to get involved with the fight against hunger is to support or attend an event. There several special events on the calendar. Be sure to join us for:
Another way to inspire and engage others in the fight against hunger is to be a cause marketing partner or support a cause marketing event or promotion. Proceeds events are a wonderful way to drive traffic to your store while giving back! Contact Brie Rios for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org.

A Spoon Full of Hope
One way to help shorten the line of need in Central Florida is by purchasing products from our A Spoon Full of Hope product line. This line of soup, honey, cookies and lunches support the Culinary Training Program at Second Harvest Food Bank, which provides disadvantaged and at-risk adults with the training needed for a sustainable career in the food industry. You can purchase products at local Lucky’s Markets and Gordon Food Service stores, as well as online at aspoonfullofhope.org.
This summer children in rising Kindergarten through 5th grades can participate in a summer camp at Second Harvest focused on making a positive impact in the community and the world. Over the course of three weeks in July, campers will explore how to change the world through nonprofit work; protect the world with projects that reduce, reuse and recycle; and improve the world through creative, hands-on projects. Each week features fun field trips too. Learn more and register at ihopecamp.org.
