Volunteers are essential to fighting hunger in Central Florida. Your helping hands in the warehouse are crucial to distributing 58 million meals each year. However, a day doesn’t go by without one of you asking, “What are some other ways I can help?”
From time to time the food bank relies on volunteers for specific and unique skill sets. Bi-lingual volunteers have helped conduct interviews with food recipients, hospitality workers have lent their experience to make special events a success and others have lent technical expertise behind the scenes to improve operations.
When you update your volunteer profile, you can identify other ways you’d like to help. It’s quick and easy!

Some skills Second Harvest is seeking include banquet servers, bartenders and entertainers who can volunteer their time to create memorable experiences for guests at events like Chef’s Night and others. Other volunteers assist with the marketing of new programs, provide guest speakers for the Culinary Training Program and perform more technical tasks in the warehouse.
When a unique skill or need arises, we will turn first to this list for these special opportunities.
Your passion and dedication to our mission are inspiring.
