This summer, with your generous help, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is preparing for a very different kind of disaster. One that will not be accompanied by heavy rain, storm surges, or damaging winds.
Instead, this “unnatural” disaster will manifest itself through malnutrition, misery, and lost human potential. It’s already started to hit our most vulnerable neighbors, children.
Too many children who receive food through the free or reduced-price lunch program during the school year are not getting that assistance right now. These children are facing a summer of hunger.
Yes, we’ll be ready for hurricanes too. But your support of our mission this summer will make it possible to fight hunger on so many different fronts.
Thank you for remembering those who need us most.
