Winter Park’s Feed the Need campaign is getting ready to wrap up this week and they are SO close to meeting their goal of $50,000! Feed the Need is the first ever community wide virtual food drive to support Second Harvest Food Bank’s mission of providing food for those who are struggling in our community. The most incredible part about this campaign all comes down to one word: community. The city, chamber, university, schools, small businesses, large businesses, and individuals are all backing this cause. On the steps of Winter Park’s City Hall at the campaign kickoff, Winter Park’s Mayor Bradley stated “Winter Park works best when it works together”. We cannot agree more! Over $48,000 has been raised in only 19 days. Please consider donating to Feed the Need to help them reach their goal by Friday, November 22.
We owe a great deal of gratitude to the hard working committee that made Feed the Need a reality. The committee is made up of generous volunteers from the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, the City of Winter Park, Rollins College, Sodexo, and ThinkCreative. Also, a huge thank you to the sponsors that made donations to kick off the campaign in a big way: Mayflower Retirement Community, Winter Park Memorial Hospital, and Florida Distributing Company. Finally, we would like to thank all the Community Champions that joined the campaign!
We can’t thank Winter Park enough for taking a stand against hunger in Central Florida. Join them today by visiting www.feedtheneedwp.org
