#GivingTuesday. 40,000 empty plates. Can you help?

Meal Thermometer InfographicThis time of year, most people are well acquainted with both Black Friday, and the newest holiday shopping event, Cyber Monday. But what about Giving Tuesday?  After a day of giving thanks, and two days of getting deals, Giving Tuesday is simply a day of giving – giving to your favorite charity, giving back to your community, giving your time to a cause.

Second Harvest, and WESH 2 News, are joining #GivingTuesday with a goal to raise $10,000 – which equates to 40,000 meals! Donations will provide more food to the families, seniors, and children in our community, who find themselves with empty plates and empty stomachs over the holiday seasons.

With your support, we can help our neighbors in need on December 3! Check out our #GivingTuesday headquarters at http://bit.ly/mealsDec3 and share photos with your friends and families, using your favorite social networks. Throughout the day we will update you with the progress made so far, and together we can help fill the 40,000 empty plates of food insecure Central Floridians.
