This April Walmart is joining forces with its customers and suppliers with a goal to secure 200 million meals for Feeding America and its nationwide network of food banks, including Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida – and you can help!
There are three main ways to get involved in this campaign to fight hunger in local stores, online and through social sharing.
1. Purchase Select Items
For every participating product purchased at local Walmart stores or at Walmart.com from April 2 – 20, 2018, $0.10 will be donated to Second Harvest. Many stores will have a “Fight Hunger. Spark Change.” display area to showcase participating items from General Mills, The Coca-Cola Company, Kellogg, Kraft Heinz, PepsiCo/ Frito Lay/ Quaker, Bush Brothers, Clorox Sales Company, Conagra, Motts, Unilever, Maruchan, Pinnacle Foods, Post and JM Smucker.
2. Register Giving
Donations made at the register will also benefit Second Harvest Food Bank and can be made in increments of $1, $2, $5 or any amount designated by the customer. Donating is also an option at the self-checkout register. On orders over $10, a prompt will appear with details on selecting a donation amount.
3. Social Sharing
Meanwhile, Instagram users are encouraged to share a black-and-white photo of food with the hashtag #FightHunger for additional donations to be made to Feeding America.
And finally, everyone can get involved at Walmart.com/fighthunger. For every click on the Support button, Walmart will donate $1 to Feeding America, up to $1.5 million.
Bonus: Shoppers who use the Walmart Credit Card will trigger additional donations. Synchrony Bank will donate $0.10 for each Walmart Credit Card transaction made at Walmart stores and on Walmart.com during the campaign, up to $750,000.
