This week the Darden Foundation Community Kitchen had a guest chef! Chef Alfred “Alfy” Mann donated his time, skills and cooking techniques to teach our community kitchen students about the Art of Sauce-Making. Chef Alfred emphasized the importance of how basic ingredients can create wonderful, quick and easy meals that many people pay a great amount of money to enjoy at restaurants.
With a menu that included Salmon Cakes with Remoulade Sauce Capellini, Tasso and Creamy Mushrooms and Fresh Berries with Sabayon for dessert, our community kitchen students were not only able to enjoy a high end three course meal, but were able to learn how to make each dish step-by-step alongside Chef Alfred.
