Last Thursday Walt Disney World hosted our culinary students at the Disney Contemporary Convention Services Center for mock interviews with the Disney Executive Chef team. From the moment we arrived at the Disney Contemporary Convention Services Center we were treated like royalty.
Chef Robert Gilbert welcomed us and introduced the team of Disney Executive Chefs. There was over 175 years of combined experience in the room. The Executive Chefs were paired with students for interviews. This gave the students the opportunity to meet one on one with the Chefs and glean from the Chefs’ vast fountain of knowledge and expertise. Second Harvest is truly honored to have our culinary training students experience this unique and rare opportunity.
From Chef Mickey’s surprise visit, the tour of the bakery and the California Grill’s kitchen, and the networking luncheon the students were in awe. What a joy it was to see the students’ faces and listen to their comments as they admired the beautiful cakes and enjoyed the delicious four course luncheon. For many of our student this was their first visit to Disney and what a great visit it was. Everything was so well thought out and planned. They will forever remember the magical moments spent with the Disney team. Thank you Disney for helping us make a difference and change lives in our community.
