Holly Hill Recovers from Hurricane Irma

Author: Erika Spence

United Brethren in Christ set up a mobile food pantry at Holly Forest Estates, an adult mobile home community, after Hurricane Irma knocked power out for several days. Volunteers had some extra help distributing food thanks to City of Holly Hill Mayor John Penny and Commissioner John Danio, who stopped by to lend a hand (photo at left).

Residents initially received water, MREs and snacks. After power was restored they were also treated to fresh produce. Many residents were thrilled to receive this product due to the high cost of replacing perishable food lost during the storm and power outage. Others also faced additional costs of home repairs during the recovery effort.
