Wine Women & Shoes. Those 3 words are like music to our ears, right ladies? There are 3 more words that mean a lot to us at the food bank: Feed Hope Now. Every guest, sponsor, vendor, shoe guy, donor and committee member did their part on Saturday, April 28th to fight hunger in our community at Wine Women & Shoes 2012.
I am proud to announce that Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida’s 2nd annual Wine Women & Shoes event raised over $114,000 for our neighbors in need. Absolutely incredible. Let me break that down into “food bank math”. That is equivalent to 456,000 meals. We are able to provide $1,026,000 worth in food value to people who need it most. We couldn’t have done it without all of you. Each purchase you made during Wine Women & Shoes helped us get to these fantastic results. Whether it was a new pair of shoes, or a trip to Bali…you can feel good about where that money is going.
Let’s go over some highlights of the event:
Wine: 24 different wines were poured last Saturday. Everything from Cab Sauv, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay to Malbec. Yum! Big thank you to the wine reps who came to pour this delicious vino for our guests.
Women: Our guests are what made the event! They came out in a big way. Over 300 fabulous women sipped and shopped to their hearts delight. You all looked amazing and thank you so much for supporting Second Harvest Food Bank. I hope you had a good time!
Shoes: Well not just shoes, but all of the shopping in general! Wow. Everything was so beautiful. Our vendors were: Bibby’s Jewelry, Carlos Falchi, Chloe Lane, Diana E. Kelly, Ginger, Merle Norman, Saks Fifth Avenue Florida Mall, Sirissima, Sole Journey, and Tim’s Wine Market. I am curious to know what all of you bought at Wine Women & Shoes. Do us a favor and next time you wear it, please post a picture on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn#!/WWSOrlando
Fashion Show: Wine Women & Shoes Orlando was lucky enough to have Saks Fifth Avenue Florida Mall sponsor and style our fashion show. It was fantastic! We had so much fun watching all of the spring styles walk down the runway. Also those male models added some spice to an all women event! A big huge thank you to the entire team at Saks Fifth Avenue, you are all incredible.
Shoe Guys: Who can resist 16 hunky guys walking around with perfect pumps on silver trays? Our Shoe Guys showed off the amazing merchandise, topped off your wine glasses, and greeted our VIPs with trays of bubbling champagne. They worked hard AND played hard. We love our Shoe Guys!
Key to the Closet: 100 keys were sold. Only 1 opened the door to unlock $5,700 worth of goodies! Congrats to our winner who took home shoes, handbags, certificates, clothes, services, and more! Can’t wait to see what will be in the closet next year.
Live Auction: From the French Riviera to a Bentley for the weekend…Bali to a personal stylist…the live auction had it all! Not only did our guests walk away with some spectacular trips and services, but we had fun! Thank you to American Fundraising Auctions for another fun and exciting auction!
There are some pretty important people that we need to thank that made all of this possible. First and foremost, the Wine Women & Shoes committee knows how to throw a party. Our chair, Kelly Gaines and the rest of the committee worked tirelessly to make sure everything ran smoothly. We are so lucky to have them as friends of the food bank. Thank you for everything, ladies. We don’t know what we would do with you. Interested in joining the committee for 2013? We would love to have you! Just contact Jen Landress at 407-295-5009 x 28 or jlandress@foodbankcentralflorida.org
Also a huge thank you to all of our sponsors. You make this event happen and are the reason why Wine Women & Shoes was so successful. Can’t forget about our hosts, Lesyle Gale from Magic 107.7 and Vanessa Echols from WFTV. You two were amazing! Also thank you to J from J’s Everyday Fashion to judging our “Best in Shoe” contest. Everyone had so much fun with that!
So if you can’t tell. We had the best time at Wine Women & Shoes. Thanks again to everyone who came out to enjoy the event and to those who worked hard to put it on.
