There’s never been a more important time in our community to rally around neighbors, friends, co-workers and people in need. Second Harvest Food Bank is experiencing unprecedented demand for our services of providing emergency food. People who six to eight months ago never imagining they needed help now face the prospect of unemployment or reduced hours and trying to figure out how to pay the rent, mortgage, medical bills, gasoline and yet still eat.
We are reaching out to you through this blog to get your attention and to engage you in conversation on the issue of hunger. We’ll be changing this blog frequently and welcome your thoughts, ideas and suggestions on how we can continue to be a big part of the solution. Please invite friends into this conversation; we all can make a huge difference.
There are some issues in this world that are not solvable, however, hunger is one of them that can be cured….one meal at a time.
Thank you.
